A tour across North America showcasing Generative AI by AWS and Hugging Face.

In 2023, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced an expanded collaboration with Hugging Face, a leading artificial intelligence (AI) platform, to help customers accelerate their journey in generative artificial intelligence. Hugging Face, established in 2016, provides more than 500,000 open-source models and over 100,000 datasets. AWS and Hugging Face have been working together to simplify the training, fine-tuning, and deployment of Hugging Face models using Amazon SageMaker, AWS Trainium, and AWS Inferentia. This partnership allows developers who use Hugging Face to optimize performance and reduce costs, making generative AI applications easier to bring to production.

In 2024, the companies will jointly run a Generative AI Roadshow in North America, enabling individuals to meet with AI experts and gain a hands-on understanding of the most recent advancements in the field. Julien Simon, the Chief Evangelist at Hugging Face, will be visiting eight AWS headquarters across North America between April and June 2024. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their use cases and learn how AWS and Hugging Face can aid in achieving their AI goals.

The roadshow will pass through Seattle, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Los Angeles, Boston, New York City, Austin, and Arlington. Attendees can either request a one-on-one meeting with Julien and AWS experts or register for an in-person developer workshop. These workshops allow developers to learn how to deploy open-source models from Hugging Face in a practical setting while also reducing production costs with Amazon SageMaker and AWS Inferentia.

Shruti Koparkar, a Senior Product Marketing Manager at AWS, helps customers explore, evaluate, and adopt Amazon EC2’s accelerated computing infrastructure for their machine learning needs. Hoko Hongo is a Senior Go-to-Market Specialist at AWS and works on customer acceleration programs to advance customers’ generative AI journeys. For more information about the AWS and Hugging Face collaboration, individuals are encouraged to visit Amazon SageMaker’s resources and the AWS Inferentia and Trainium space on the Hugging Face website.
