Contentful, in combination with Amazon Bedrock, has launched an app called the AI Content Generator. This app, available in the Contentful Marketplace, utilizes artificial intelligence models from Amazon Bedrock to create, rewrite, summarize, and translate content. The intention behind the AI Content Generator is to help content creators efficiently produce high-quality and consistent material.
Contentful is an intelligent composable content platform facilitating content creation and management for creating digital experiences. It is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner and customer. Amazon Bedrock, meanwhile, is a managed service providing quick access to large language models and a set of capabilities for developing generative AI applications.
Content creators can use the new app for tasks such as rewriting existing content to fit different formats. Users simply need to choose the “Rewrite” option, select the fields for input and output, describe the intended changes (such as making the content shorter), and instruct Amazon Bedrock to perform the adjustments. After which, they can modify the generated text and apply it to the intended output field.
To use the AI Content Generator, individuals must sign up for Contentful and install the app from the marketplace. During installation, users are required to provide an AWS access key ID and secret access key for authentication. In addition, AWS offers a CloudFormation template that sets up an AWS Identity and Access Management user with minimal privileges needed for the app, ensuring compliance with organizational security rules.
Though effective, using generative AI at scale can be costly. To prevent unexpected AWS expenses, users can deploy another CloudFormation template that sets up a budgeting app in their AWS account. This allows users to specify a soft limit, which triggers an email alert, and a hard limit that turns off access to Amazon Bedrock completely.
Aside from enhancing content development efficiency, using the AI Content Generator can streamline feedback processes, foster creativity, and ensure that content remains consistent with brand guidelines. It also aids in translating and adjusting content according to global markets.
The introduction of Amazon Bedrock to Contentful enables digital teams to access a variety of large language models, which will help them to work more creatively and effectively, and make more impactful interactions with their customers.
