Hallucination Mid-Travel and additional work by MANΞKI NΞKO.

This account strictly refers to an inventive method by @manekinekoAIArt (Neko) for producing unique images using the Midjourney platform and its capabilities of ‘hallucinogenic’ rendering. The process was initially discovered through a prompt on the platform and has since been expanded upon and tweaked by other users to create their variant interpretations of the technique.

The primary step necessitates the creation of an abstract image basis a directive of the user’s choice. It’s the initiate point from where the entire process starts. Here, the example used is an “abstract map of Fukushima, duotone velvet grey and cream”. This image is then inserted into the Midjourney website, though the process can also be achieved via the Midjourney Discord.

A critical part of this method is to reiterate the “and more and more and more” prompt coupled with the URL of the pre-created abstract image within Midjourney. According to the process explained, this forces the platform into a ‘hallucination’ state – an attempt to generate new outputs based on the existing image and supplementary text, further boosted by the tweaked –stylize parameter directing the hallucination to a certain extent.

The process converges to create variations of preferred resultant images through options of “Vary Strong” or “Vary Subtle,” all directing the platform to shape nuances based on the original prompt and image. The “Vary Strong” function introduces more new details compared to the “Vary Subtle”, which cultivates subtle variations.

With this, the images can undergo a further layer of transformation by again adding the “and more and more and more” command, in addition to the URLs of other generations. Additional tips offered by Neko include experimenting with the number of “and more”s and refreshing the process with newer runs of the same prompt.

Within the creative process, there is an element of flexibility, allowing changes to the amount of repetition of the command “and more” within the text prompt; it’s not strictly required to have three repetitions. Weights and strength values can be added to the prompts, diversifying the output variations.

Expanding on this concept, users can add multiple URLs and create a blend of several abstract images, letting Midjourney determine the output. Users have shared intricate and visually stunning results procured using Neko’s process.

In light of growing enthusiasm and interest, a YouTube tutorial has been launched to guide users through the images’ creation process in this manner, covering the method in an attempt to help them generate unique works of art.
