Introducing Coca-Cola Y3000: Coca-Cola employs artificial intelligence to formulate a novel taste, purportedly resembling what the year 3000 might taste like.

The Coca-Cola Company has launched a new “limited edition” flavor, Coca-Cola Y3000 Zero Sugar, the result of an AI-generated experiment. Developed as a combination of human ingenuity and artificial intelligence (AI), it captures consumers’ future expectations and ideas using their emotions, aspirations, colours, and flavours. This human-AI partnership aims to present a taste indicative of the year 3000. The company aims to continue its relevance in the future by enlivening customer experience with this unique flavour concept.

Coca-Cola’s Senior Director of Global Strategy, Oana Vlad, emphasized the exploration of a “Coke from the future” concept. Despite the futuristic marketing, it remains just a fizzy drink without any supernatural attributes as some promotional materials imply.

The packaging of Coca-Cola Y3000 has a QR code that users can scan to enable them to visualize their future selves via the Y3000 AI Cam. The drink has been described as mixing typical Coke flavours with a “futuristic twist.” Taste tests have revealed a subtle berry-like undertone, hints of sweetness, and slight fruity flavours such as raspberry or blackberry.

This new Coke flavour will be launched in locations across North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. However, there’s no information yet on its availability in Australia. The futuristic feel of the drink is echoed in the can’s design, which was also AI-assisted. It displays a light-toned colour palette of violet, magenta, and cyan against a silver base. Additionally, the displayed font indicates fluid dot clusters that merge to signify future human connections.

Continuing its technological innovations from last year, the company dives further into the possibilities of AI, aiming to expand its capabilities in this rapidly advancing area. Coca-Cola is venturing into the realm of enhancing consumer experiences with the application of advanced technologies, making for an odd but intriguing future.
