A few weeks ago, user S4f3tyMarc released presets that are used in the Deforum.Studio site. These presets were long-awaited, as understanding the inner workings of Deforum (an extension for Automatic1111) had been challenging before this especially in terms of camera movement.
S4f3tyMarc released these presets in the Git Repo on April 18th. The release included his Motion Presets, which animate the camera movements, and the masks videos, that accompany them to produce the final output.
Thanks to these presets, it is now possible to run animations locally without needing to buy credits on Deforum.Studio. As someone who has been following the developments in the AI art space, the realization that the hobby was slowly becoming a financial burden due to the accumulating subscriptions made the release of these presets much more beneficial.
The offering of these presets, however, was not perfect. They were rudimentary and required fine-tuning – an issue that was promptly addressed. The presets have been polished and repackaged for straightforward downloading.
After downloading the zip file containing the presets and extracting it, you will find TXT format motion presets and Hybrid Video masks, MP4 files. The presets can be loaded simply by providing the full path of the file and clicking on “Load All Settings” in the Deforum Extension. It is also possible to edit the prompts depending on your needs, although it is advised against tinkering with other settings unless you are fully aware of what you are doing.
There are 96 presets included in the package, with unique names such as “Classic-30s,” “Classic-3D-Motion-2-30s,” and “Classic-3D-Motion-30s,” among others.
Some presets will use a Video Init to guide movements and frame production, so it’s important to check the Video init path/URL setting in the preset, and update the path for the MP4 file to be accessible. If not, the preset won’t run.
These presets allow you to run locally the same presets on the Deforum.Studio website. Also, the user has shared several video clips that were made using these presets, providing users with a hint of what to expect from the presets.
All who found these presets helpful are encouraged to thank S4f3tyMarc and show their appreciation by offering him a coffee. This humbling gesture will contribute towards keeping the AI art universe interactive and collaborative while remaining commercially sustainable.
