On the Move: Approaches to Improve Time Management on Your iPhone

Smartphones are essential for consolidating multiple devices into one – a phone, navigator, music player, messaging system, and alarm. The downside is that we can end up wasting time on our small screens instead of being productive. The good news is, your iPhone can be a tool to boost your productivity if used purposefully.

Here are eight strategies to enhance iPhone efficiency:

First, turn off notifications. By reducing interruptions from random alerts, your focus can stay on tasks. Use ‘Do Not Disturb’ to allow only specific contacts.

Secondly, free up storage. When the message, ‘iPhone Storage Full,’ pops up, don’t panic. Instead, use an iPhone cleaner to delete duplicate photos, temporary files, and unnecessary applications. This can enhance phone performance.

Third, install a time management app. These apps offer calendars, to-do lists, and goal-setting features. Some can even gamify productivity, turning chores into points-earning games.

Next, disable Background App Refresh. While it keeps apps up-to-date, it drains power. Go to Settings, then General, select Background App Refresh, and turn off for the apps you choose.

Also, eliminate anything that wastes your time. Statistics show we spend an average of two hours and 22 minutes daily on social media and messaging. Consider removing these apps from your phone and accessing them on your computer instead, potentially saving two hours per day.

Additionally, use ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode when you need full concentration. You can block calls, texts, and notifications. On an iPhone, pull down from the top right of the screen, then tap the quarter moon icon.

Then, try a voice-activated personal assistant. Operations like responding to messages or doing internet searches can be handed over to these intelligent phone secretaries.

Finally, sync notes. Microsoft OneNote or Evernote allow you to access the same notes from any device, making planning and sharing easy. Use services like Google Docs, Dropbox, or OneDrive for documents and presentations.

To keep your iPhone running smoothly, regular care and maintenance are vital. Improve performance and battery life with these strategies, especially if your device is an older model no longer supported with major iOS updates.
