Summit 2024 on Post-Industrial Revolution: Stepping into the Age of AI Transition

The 2024 Post-Industrial Summit, scheduled for February 28-29 in Menlo Park, California, will bring business leaders together to discuss the role of AI in reshaping the future of businesses. The summit is being hosted by the Post-Industrial Institute and SRI International and will include insights from experts from AWS, SAP, Salesforce, SRI, Broadcom, Swisscom, Deloitte, Accenture, Yamaha, Marubeni, Mitsubishi, Stanford University, and other top organizations. Delegates will represent a wide range of industries such as VMWare, Oracle, Deloitte, CA Systems, Swisscom, Amazon, Travelers Insurance, Tech Mahindra, and many others.

Efforts will be made during the summit to provide practical strategies for implementing responsible and ethical AI systems that enhance processes, optimize operations, enable data-guided decisions, and unlock new growth avenues. It’s an invaluable opportunity for participants to collaborate and understand the immense business potential of AI.

The Post-Industrial Institute (PII), founded in 2004 by Frode Odegard, is propelling the conversation around AI into the post-industrial age. Odegard, a Norway native who moved to Silicon Valley with a passion for theoretical computer science, established the PII to inspire businesses to embrace innovation. In 2019, the PII launched the Post-Industrial Forum, successfully hosting more than 45 events and attracting participation from executives from leading companies like Hyundai, Microsoft, Siemens, and prestigious academic institutions like Stanford.

The PII were the first to propose that we are transitioning to a post-industrial phase, an idea surpassing widely accepted narratives like the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The term “post-industrial” represents deeper collaboration between humans and machines, with AI fostering the age of super-productivity.

Smaller, more recent AI companies such as Anthropic, Inflection, and Mistral are already showing evidence of this shift. Despite their lean teams and recent founding, these companies are valued sky-high and are heavily contested by established tech organizations like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google looking to capitalize on their agility and rapid pace.

The critical goal of the summit is to tackle the organizational discrepancies and equip leaders to expedite AI transformation, thereby driving bottom-up productivity. AI literacy, according to Odegard, is an urgent need given its impact on productivity, job nature, and even shareholder value.

The summit will demonstrate the future of AI, highlighting the potential of AI agents as coordinators and facilitators within human teams, creating a dynamic network of humans and AIs collaborating on projects. This approach has already born fruit with breakthroughs at DeepMind and Microsoft.

The Post-Industrial Summit is primed to equip participants with strategies and insights that will enable them to effectively tap into the business potential of AI. Speakers for the summit include Alfred Shen of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Dr. Sohini Roychowdhury of Accenture, Frode Odegard of PII, among others from prominent organizations.

The summit will feature a variety of sessions, including keynotes, fireside chats, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities. Topics will range from global complexities to the future of AI platforms and the economic and cultural impacts of AI. It’s a must-attend event for leaders interested in harnessing AI’s enormous transformational potential. For more details, visit the Post-Industrial Summit 2024 website.
