Anthropic has introduced a new feature in their AI tool, Anthropic Console, which allows developers to create expert prompts. This feature uses the AI, called Claude, to generate a prompt based on the developer’s task description, reducing the need to manually write and optimize. In addition to generating prompts, Claude also offers a test case generation feature for validating them, it creates a sample input based on the tasks designed to respond to user inputs.
This new feature also enables automated stress-testing of these prompts, giving developers increased confidence that their applications will function well when deployed. This addition seems to render hiring a prompt engineer unnecessary, as the Anthropic Console can now generate high-quality prompts using Claude.
Another exciting functionality of the Anthropic Console, the Artifacts feature, grants users the ability to run the output generated by Claude. Upon launching Claude Sonnet 3.5, Anthropic also revealed its Artifacts window, which enables users to run various types of built output such as code snippets, website previews, and even interactive React components.
This Artifact feature has been extended to allow users to share their Artifacts publicly without needing to access the claud.ai platform. Only the Artifact will be visible to the public, ensuring user conversations and other context will remain private.
A “Remix this Artifact” button has also been added, which allows developers to modify shared Artifacts and engage with it in a new Claude conversation. This capability has sparked innovative uses for the tool, with education professionals now able to create interactive educational content for students and circulate it with ease.
The ability to publicly publish the Artifact transforms each piece of content, from screenshots to presentations, into an interactive learning tool. Ethan Mollick demonstrated this with an interactive startup funding simulation.
This update could revolutionize online education, offering a whole new way of creating content for students. However, despite being available for free, the usage of the Artifacts feature on Claude accounts is limited. On weighing Claude Sonnet 3.5’s superior performance against GPT-4o and with the upcoming release of Claude Opus 3.5, the question arises whether OpenAI will alter its pricing to retain users.
